2022 Calendar of Events

The revised Innovate Moreton Bay Calendar of events will support the Moreton Bay Region as it strives to become a top 10 regional knowledge and innovation hub as outlined in the Regional Development Strategy (REDS), thanks to a significant investment by Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Techstars Startup Weekend

Friday, 10th – Sunday, 12th June
USC Moreton Bay

The inaugural Moreton Bay Techstars Startup Weekend is an action-packed three-day program where aspiring entrepreneurs can experience startup life, including the highs, lows, fun and pressure that make up life as a startup. All in just 54 hours.

Learn what it takes to innovate, disrupt, and start a company from people who’ve been there.

Startup Weekend features deep experiential learning guided by an experienced hand.

Teachers Coding & Robotics PD Workshops

Thursday 21st July

Friday 22nd July
USC Caboolture

In the last semester of 2022, Innovate Moreton Bay will deliver two Coding & Robotics Workshops for teachers in the region.

The workshops will help teachers better understanding teaching tools and methodologies to support development of new programs in their schools, by fostering higher quality curriculum development.

Details will include ‘where’ and ‘how’ teachers can access hardware (and costs for school budgeting purposes) as well as how to implement these courses in their own schools.

Moreton Bay Innovations Day

Thursday, 10th November

Are you an innovative company operating in Moreton Bay Region that’s looking to connect and engage with new customers?

Expressions of interest are opening soon for the inaugural Innovations Day for Moreton Bay Region.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to host a display at the event, as well as have the opportunity to get on stage and pitch their product or service, to a qualified audience of potential buyers including senior staff from major government agencies, institutions and corporations.

Moreton Mentors

We are continuously recruiting mentors (Moreton Mentors) all year-round to help us deliver programs and initiatives for Moreton Bay Region's Innovation ecosystem.

  • Are you a leader of you field and want to give back to their community?
  • Do you have the skills and expertise to lend a hand to others?
  • Can you ignite imaginations?
  • Can you help build the confidence of a newcomer to take the plunge into an exciting future?

In return, you will benefit from:

  • Developing your own mentoring, communication and leadership skills.
  • Enhancing your cross-cultural competence by working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Improving your understanding of the issues and barriers experienced by newcomers in Moreton Bay Region.
  • Networking opportunities with other likeminded individuals and mentors.

Monthly Social Catchups

Delivered on the third Wednesday of every month from 3pm- 5pm, the Innovate Moreton Bay Monthly Social Catchup provides the opportunity to surround yourself around likeminded thinkers & tinkers in an informal setting.

This is your opportunity to share your story and experience with others. You never know who you might meet. Keep up to date with relevant opportunities and events within the Regional Innovation Ecosystem and connect with others who may be able to assist in getting your idea to the next level. Grow your personal network regionally, nationally, and even internationally.
