Announcement of $325 Million Brendale Battery Project

Last week, Mayor Peter Flannery joined Premier Steven Miles and Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners to celebrate a remarkable milestone for the Supernode data centre project in Brendale, which is set to revolutionise our city's energy landscape and boost our economy.

With the $325 million financing secured for the 250MW/2hr Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS) in Brendale, work can now start on what will be one of the largest battery storage installations in Australia.

Mayor Peter Flannery described today's announcement as a significant milestone in the 'Supernode' project, which will boost Moreton Bay’s economy, bolster its energy resilience, and amplify its growing reputation as a technology and innovation hub.

The initiative will not only enhance energy security for Queenslanders but also strongly aligns with our Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) and will bring substantial economic benefits to our area.

We can't wait to see the project unfold and benefit from Brendale’s already strong business ecosystem and smart city infrastructure.

And if you're looking to grow your business, you need to look no further than Brendale and the City of Moreton Bay, the centre of South East Queensland’s engine room!
